A well known mining company based in Rustenburg is looking for a Corporate Affairs Executive to be accountable for carrying out all the duties in relation to Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Sustainable Development and as required of an Executive by the JSE Listings Requirements.
Key responsibilities
The Executive will be a member of the Executive Committee and shall participate / contribute in line with requirements pertaining to this role.
Conduct any appropriate Executive activities as required by the Chief Executive Officer and / or Board and its nominees.
Corporate Affairs
- The Executive shall manage the Corporate Affairs of the Company, specifically relating to the community and government and fulfil the role of Executive responsible for external interaction, liaison and negotiation as appropriate, with government, community and other related stakeholders.
- The Executive shall interact with all Company stakeholders.
- The Executive shall report to the Chief Executive Officer with respect to his Corporate Affairs duties.
Sustainability
- Ensure maximum compliance with applicable laws and regulations and in furtherance of achieving Sustainable Development practices in the Company.
- Develop and manage the Sustainable Development agenda of the Company to ensure that Sustainable Development principles are embedded in the way that Company carries out all its activities.
- Be overall accountable for reporting on the Sustainable Development Programme of the Company in the Company’s Integrated Report (Annual Report).
- The Sustainable Development Programme includes the overall oversight and implementation of the Social and Labour Plan which includes but is not limited to the following community programmes, Satisfaction Survey, Event Calendars and Stakeholder Engagements Forums.
- Be overall accountable for the management of the Company’s Compliance Register which shall reflect all matter to which the Company must comply and the Company’s state of compliance thereto.
- The Executive shall be responsible for monitoring the Company’s Risk Management programme implementation in collaboration with the Finance Department.
- The Executive shall contribute on key issues which impact on the business overall at Executive
Minimum education & experience requirements
- A legal degree and a post-graduate degree in Law
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the management of outsourced legal services (Legal Firms) and Business
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in Management of Stakeholder Relations, which shall as a minimum be inclusive of media, government at all levels and community.
- A combination of Corporate and Public Sector Experience will serve as an advantage

- Management and leadership skills
- Experience in the Management and Negotiation of Contracts
- Knowledge in Risk, Compliance and Ethics Management.
- Knowledge of Corporate Communications Management
