Manager Warranty & Maintenance Plans Fund

  • Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Manager Warranty & Maintenance Plans Fund position in the Warranty & Maintenance Plans Department – NSO (Kariega)

Brief Role Description

  • To strategically lead, plan, organise and control all activities of the Maintenance/Service Plans department, including the financial management of the approximately R 4,1 billion Warranty and Maintenance Fund, in order to improve the profitability of company and to optimise customer loyalty and retention.
  • The successful candidate will manage the department, (11 heads)  including responsibility for the management of the Warranty & Maintenance Plan Fund and growth of Maintenance & Service Plans.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Strategic Financial Planning to ensure that the Fund can grow and to guarantee sufficient funds are available to meet the obligations of the fund.
  • Regularly assess adequacy of provisions in the fund to guarantee legally required annual pay-outs to Dealers (Regular risk assessment by model)
  • Calculate and forecast provisions for potential “black swan” events.
  • Develop new products to enhance the current offering, increase loyalty and part sales.
  • Identify and implement new sales channels to sell more Maintenance/service Plans to maximise the sale of plans and to grow loyalty and part sales.
  • Manage and maintain strict control over the Warranty & Maintenance Plans and Roadside Assistance expenditure.
  • Improve the financial result of by ensuring through effective budgeting, and monitoring expenditure against targets.

Qualification requirements

  • CA(SA) or CMA
  • B. Com (Hon) Accounting or Management Accounting

Experience Needed

  • 5 -10 years’ experience at management level
  • 3 years’ experience in the compiling and controlling of sizeable expenditure / budgets >R500million

Essentials

  • Ability to lead a diverse team.
  • Intimate knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Able to handle and interpret large amounts of data.
  • Experience in compiling and presenting management reports highlighting anomalies.
  • Knowledge of warranty processes and philosophies
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of motor vehicles and components functionality and workings.
  • Deep understanding of Dealer Network operations.
  • Systems experience, particularly in the SAP environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).

Added Advantage

  • Proficiency in Qlik Sense & Power BI
  • Financial and/or Technical experience gained in the automotive industry
  • Ability to work in SAP.
