Materials Planning & Logistics Supervisor

An automotive OEM company based in Pretoria is looking for a Production Control Supervisor to lead the materials planning & logistics to provide overall supervision on day-to-day operations, support the analysts resolve emerging issue and drive continue process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES:

ECC (Engineering Change Control)

  1. Ensure the maintenance of computerized systems and accurate stock movement records for inventory on Bulk materials.
  2. Maintenance of Select Fit Process, gathering data, changing & maintaining of unit usage and inventory integrity.
  3. Assist with Bulk verification process from gathering data until fixing of BOM & updating of inventory.
  4. Full maintenance and management of VUV (vehicle usage verification) Process of suspect until full closure.
  5. Follow up of corrective actions of VUV.
  6. EQN (engineering query notice) – ensuring 100% integrity are pursued.
  7. Cycle count request as part of engineering change control process.
  8. Alert report for MP&L Actions required.
  9. Assist PPM BOM Analyst as required Engineering Change Report , fine tuning timing FCR action required from PVT Engineers .
  10. Lead and support the Model year Balance Out (Model year changes and Bundle Changes)
  11. Implement all engineering changes with zero to minimum obsolescence.
  12. Initiate the E&O ticket for changes with obsolescence for disposal.
  13. Notify customs for every E&O Scrapped parts for customs duty recovery.
  14. Action the system accordingly e.g. Transaction 37 in line with the FM.
  15. Follow up on Alerts and implementation of changes under alerts.
  16. Coordinate and communicate changes to the MTC and cross-functional teams.

Scheduling

  1. Vehicle build unit planning to meet sale demand and align with Car production
  2. Deliver metric of PTP (Production to Program), PTS (Production to Schedule) and VOW (Vehicle on Wheel)
  3. Planning for PxP and Service to meet Customer demand.
  4. Ensure scheduling is reviewed and monitored daily.

NGAVS

  1. Update the broadcast in line with EOL inputs, GPAM and PVS Broadcast notifications.
  2. Support and update Engineering changes EOL parts in line with the ECU file, New VSCS file and New Calibration files.
  3. Follow up on aging units in Bodyshop, Paintshop, Stotz and TCF.
  4. Ensure accurate reports are circulated to the Cross Functional Team.
  5. Update and Run the offline VMC, RMA broadcasts.
  6. Support Cross Functional Team with data as an when required.
  7. Ensure Bodyshop auto buildlist has no errors and is accurate.
  8. Track and monitor all Passed to Sales Vehicles daily.
  9. Monitor Production Constraints in line with the Get Ready Document post MP2 launch program.
  10. Support Launch Programs for scheduling, broadcasts update and circulating Launch System Fill report.
  11. Daily aging report circulated to Bodyshop and Paintshop.
  12. Engage with the IMG team for best practices for continuous improvement.
  13. Support the Stotz team as the Process Coach on shift.
  14. Support IT on special projects like patches, upgrades, etc.
  15. Support different shops with re-prints.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • National Diploma/Degree in Industrial Engineering / Logistics Management or Engineering. IT Programming and coding.
  • At least 3 to 5 Years Materials Planning & Logistics experience. Production Planning Management, Supply Chain Management and Launch experience in MP&
  • Working knowledge of Body, Paint TCF & MP&L & Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of automotive Processes and Systems: , Scheduling, logistics quality assurance systems,Part Releasing and BOM
  • Very high Analytical skills and execution.
  • Attention to detail.
