An international automotive OEM company based in PE is looking for a Process Laboratory Engineer part of the Paint Shop Laboratory team, the role of a Laboratory Technician is to ensure that all inbound materials used in the manufacturing of vehicles conforms to Konzern specifications and standards  by conducting Laboratory testing analysis and investigations

Job Description and Responsibilities

•    Carrying out tests and calibrations using standard, nonstandard and laboratory developed methods
•    Ensuring that all products on the line conform to Group and supplier specifications
•    Analyzing all inbound solvents and materials for qualitative and quantitative properties using gas chromatograph, inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy, density meter and microscope
•    Ensuring that all routine tests required by Group standards are processed and documented accordingly
•    Maintaining laboratory management system for quality, administrative and technical operations
•    Liaising with accredited laboratories to fulfill the Municipal by-law requirements
•    Ensuring compliance by controlling safety requirements on the operation of the laboratory
•    Liaising with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the quality, cost and schedule standards of materials are adhered to
•    Planning, implementing and controlling new work instructions and procedures, for new test methods required
•    Coordinating and maintaining all technical and safety data sheets for online materials

Education and Experience

  • National Diploma Chemistry or relevant Engineering qualification
  • At least 3-5 years relevant experience in a laboratory environment
  • Sound technical knowledge of laboratory protocols, testing standards and ISO 17025
  • Proven analytical and innovative approach to qualitative and quantitative analysis of products and line problems
  • Computer skills(Mainframe, Windows, MS Office)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and be self-motivated
  • Sound communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels
