Regional Transportation Management Analyst

 Job Role

  • This position is available in the IMG Logistics Department. The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional (Road) Transportation Management supervisors and manager to Plan, Implement, Control, Manage & Improve Inbound Logistics Network for Ford IMG plants while ensuring cost, process & operational efficiencies using digital & innovative technologies.
  • Zero Safety issue due to Logistics Operations.
  • Deliver NIL production issue from Network planning & Implementation
  • Meet & exceed truck utilization targets thru innovative idea’s and benchmark with OEM. Drive Truck/ packaging modification to improve cube
  • Deliver TVM cost saving, Waste eliminate initiatives, Process improvements that reduce costs and focus on quality. Implement innovative projects.
  • Develop and ensure desk procedures/job aids are updated and maintained.
  • Improve Truck Turn around and Window Time adhere at Supplier & Dock
  • Monitor and Impprove Carrier Pick Up, Delivery and Transit Performance.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Plan and implement optimize Logistics Network by closely working with Suppliers, Carriers, Material Handling, Material Flow Engineering, Supply Chain by adhering SLA and safety standards.
  • Use digital tools, platforms, and software’s such as TMS, LMS, Optimizer, Route Planner, ERP etc. to improvise the logistics network and achieve cost efficiency by optimizing the cube and routes.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address daily operational issues and concerns.
  • Ensure Carrier, Supplier and System readiness for new program launches, studies, and localization.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for facility audits, window time compliance & improvement in turnaround time.
  • Ensure seamless traffic flow, vehicle call-ins, returnable flows, and unloading operations at the plant.
  • Promote continuous improvement in dock schedule compliance, TAT, dock balancing and in-plant traffic.
  • Ensure zero production stoppage while dynamically managing daily loads, routes & fleet rotation optimally.
  • Analyze logistics network opportunities in terms of cost, cube, mode, frequency, transit time, inventory, multi-modal options, and fleet customization. Driver strategic initiatives with CFT for implementation.
  • Monitor and Enhance KPIs such as on-time pickup, on-time delivery, transit time adherence, dock schedule adherence, API/EDI Compliance, TAT Adherence and plan vs. actual load performance.
  • Monitor carrier operations, KPIs, dashboards, reports and metrics to ensure production continuity
  • Plan periodic load and physical audits of trucks to enhance cube utilization
  • Continuously improve cube and cost utilizations and foster a TVM culture with a blue-sky mindset.
  • Identify process efficiency, innovation, and automation opportunities to achieve process and operational efficiency in domestic transportation. Benchmark best practices across other OEM’s, Suppliers & Carriers.
  • Lead and manage service providers by providing continues guidance, training, and support.
  • Implement most cost-effective Carriers through RFI, RFQ and Techno-commercial assessment. Ensure Statutory and Safety process compliance in Carrier Operations, Payments, Claims, Audits etc.
  • Collaborate with a cross-cultural workforce and accommodate flexible working hours and time zones.
  • Practice data analytics, process re-engineering and digitalization to drive continuous operational efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • National Diploma/ Degree in Engineering / Logistics/Business management.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in Logistics, Road transportation network planning & Operations.
  • Professional certification in logistics & supply chain management
  • Possess Good business acumen in Supply chain, Logistics – Network Design / Implementation, Dock Schedule & New model Launches. Excellent Analytical, Negotiation, Presentation & Communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Cross cultural – interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exposure to Transportation concepts and Digital Tools (TMS, TMOD, Logistics Design, Optimizer, ERP)
  • Excellent time & data management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively work and engage with senior levels of management.
  • A strong ability to work autonomously while displaying the confidence to  successfully complete tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task and seamlessly engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent Communications Skills – English writing and verbal.
  • Must be effective at implementing new tasks, procedures & implementing them accordingly
