A well known facilities management company is looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to be based in Pretoria to be responsible to ensure our organization’s adherence to legal and ethical standards within the Facilities Management industry. You will also be responsible for evaluating, establishing, and implementing the internal control systems to mitigate risk, monitor compliance, and maintain a culture of ethics throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of statutory OHS, Environmental and RISK regulations and compliance frameworks such as ISO and the ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

  • Develop and implement an effective and comprehensive compliance program, policies, and procedures within the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate the organization’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential compliance risks.
  • Oversee and manage all compliance activities, including policies and procedures development, training programs, and internal investigations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees at all levels on compliance-related matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all compliance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Keep abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the organization’s operations and proactively update compliance programs and policies accordingly.
  • Lead and conduct investigations into compliance concerns, incidents, or potential violations, and take appropriate action if necessary.
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
  • Use of and identification of the appropriate Technology and systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Quality / Health & Safety / Environmental Management / Risk Management or a related field.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in compliance management, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
  • In-depth understanding of laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks relevant to the organization’s operations.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control practices and risk management principles.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to oversee and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex compliance matters effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of the IMS; Document Management System; ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SAMTRAC or similar
  • MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook (Intermediate skill level), SAP Knowledge
  • SAIOSH or SACMPCP – this is an advantage to be registered
