Senior Management Accountant Featured

A reputable financial services company based in JHB North is looking for a Senior Management Accountant.

Job Purpose

To interpret financial data, to provide financial support, advice and reporting to the business that is aligned to the objectives of the organisation, aiding sound business decisions, as well as ensure that financial risks are properly mitigated by proactive controls.

Duties and Responsibilities    

1. Strategic alignment

• Participate in the setting up of company strategy.
• Strategy monitoring and evaluation.
• Support the FD to provide integrated budgeting process that aligns with company objectives and drives to improve financial control discipline.
• Budget monitoring and reporting by company and by departments.
• Support the FD in Creating business strategies to generate shareholder value.

2. Financial/ Operational

• Responsibilities of the job include: preparing reports, budgets, commentaries to management accounts.
• Conducts Research and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action.
• Analysing financial information to forecast business/industry and/or economic conditions.
• Analyses information to determine present and future performance.
• Looking at past and current financial performance and identifying trends.
• Preparing reports on the above information and communicating the insights to the business.
• Providing relevant finance information to aid business decisions for major projects and advising on its financial implications.
• Performing financial analysis and assessing the financial viability of business transactions.
• Consolidates the business plans and the financial forecasts ensuring that the process is efficient.
• Provide business data and analysis to managers within the organisation to assist in business decision-making and control.
• Explaining the financial consequences of business decisions applying accounting techniques to plan and budget, makes recommendations to management regarding opportunities, progress, and improvement strategies.
• Perform cost analysis and lead in cost-reduction projects, competitor analysis, and variance analysis.
• Provide financial information in strategic planning, long and medium-term planning.
• Provide financial information as required for Exco, Board and its Committees.

Minimum Requirements    

• Relevant B degree qualification (BCom/ BAcc) specialising in: Accounting, Business, Finance Management or Mathematics
• 3 Years completed Articles
• 5 years finance experience in a financial services
