A multinational company who is a supplier of fluid and hydraulics systems technology is looking for a Technical Manager. You will be required to perform all necessary tasks related to group engineered Fluid Tech Products in he market, perform competitor analysis and identify new market and product opportunities.
Key responsibilities includes:
Communication:
- Represent the company in all forms of communication, maintaining good working relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders, external suppliers, and clients.
- Respond to and follow up on all enquiries by email, telephone and personal visits as required.
- Responsibility for building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Project Management:
- Initiation of New Projects/re-engineering projects by clearly defining the Project Brief (goals, scope, roles of team members, milestones and methods of tracking progress)
- Evaluating the viability of options /alternatives
- Identifying and selecting the best options to improve productivity
- Determining project plan implementation deadlines
- Oversee implementation of re-engineering projects/initiatives
- Utilise resources as per the strategic project plan for maximum productivity
- Projects are completed according to customer specifications, time, quality and budget constraints
- Project progress is monitored to ensure productivity and target achievement
Technical management:
- Assessment of a problem using technical knowledge. Information is sourced, analysed and documented
- Recommendations clearly communicated with credibility and agreement on outcomes
- Judicious application of knowledge and experience in analysing and evaluating customer complaints regarding company products returned for repair or replacement, to preclude accumulation of unwarranted expense and to prevent customer from becoming dissatisfied with Company products and service.
- Extensive knowledge of product line including specifications, applications, purposes, capabilities and limitations. Application of knowledge to effect correct assembly and manufacture of systems and to determine causes for product failure or malfunction.
- Assist with Field Service Trouble Shooting
General:
- Oversee and keep relations with key accounts
- Advise Fluid Tech Department on stock requirements for specific industries
- Handle queries and provide technical advice to branches and customers
- Supporting and guiding branch managers with exciting key accounts to ensure ongoing business
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education
- B-Tech or B-Sc Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a technical environment.
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
- A high degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people, senior executives, and staff.
- Expert in time management with the ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency.
- Ability to complete many tasks and projects with little or no guidance.
