Brief Role Description
To Conduct dimensional measurement of vehicle components to ensure conformity to drawing and dimensional specification. Provide detailed dimensional analysis to aid part approval and correction to desired CAD/Drawing level.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Conduct dimensional measurement of vehicle components to ensure conformity to drawing specification.
- Conduct detailed measurement and analysis to aid part approval process of Internal and External supplier parts.
- Provide dimensional analysis and problem-solving ability to successfully resolve production concerns and improve the overall product quality.
- Conduct dimensional approval of vehicle components to ensure the successful release of components at the correct quality levels at relevant PEP milestones.
- Provide support to external supplier base to ensure correct Dimensional Metrology methods and principles are applied to ISO/VDA requirements.
Qualification requirements
National Diploma/Degree: Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics
Experience needed
- Have a minimum of 5 years Metrology measuring experience (Tactile or Optical).
- Have a minimum of 5 years measuring software experience (PC-Dmis, GOM, Polyworks)
Essentials
- Offline and teach programming experience of CMM facilities
- Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of CAD software (Catia Preferable)
- Working understanding of CMM maintenance and TPM
- Interpretation of Technical drawings
- Design and building of measuring fixtures
- Sound understanding of the vehicle manufacturing process (Press Shop, Body Shop, Assembly, Purchase parts manufacturing)
- Problem solving/ analytical thinking capability
- Planning and prioritisation skills
