A well known scientific and technology company based in Johannesburg is looking for a Head of Enterprise Architecture
Job Summary
- To provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and management of an integrated enterprise architecture framework in line with the organization’s vision and
- To integrate the organization’s systems, creating and implementing enterprise architecture models and improvements to current functions and processes.
Key Duties
- Define an organization-wide secure enterprise architecture (sEA) in alignment with the organizational and departmental strategy and architecture across a complex operations environment and functional
- Lead the creation and evolution of the Enterprise Architecture function and support better integration and innovation through the formation and implementation of the sEA strategy and framework.
- Support strategic and tactical decision-making through the development and implementation of effective processes and methodologies for the provision of required management data and information.
- Lead the identification and analysis of business drivers to derive business, information, technical, and solution architecture requirements, and analyze industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impact on the company
- Promote the business value of these sEA program/function and its process, and the results of the sEA programme across the organization.
- Develop the implementation plan for sEA based on business strategy and requirements, ongoing refinement, and the documentation of all design and analysis work.
- Seek opportunities to highlight how digital business initiatives will potentially impact the enterprise’s economic architecture and metrics.
- Communicate and drive the adoption of the resource management strategies, principles, and agreed resource plan and strategies.
- Manage EA requirements and support business with advice and expertise on architectural principles, models and building blocks.
- Develop and implement a secure enterprise architecture strategy to contribute to the overall achievement of the company strategy.
- Develop the resource plan and sEA strategies for delivering value and mitigating
- Manage the portfolio of sEA systems and services and ensure ongoing alignment with strategic objectives and business solutions development.
- Improve alignment, increase agility, improve quality of information and generate potential cost savings through sEA initiatives.
- Define, implement and manage the required governance, policies and processes for the effective functioning of the business.
- Detail potential competitive threats from digital enterprises that are generally considered outside of the traditional realm of competition.
- Determine the relationship between people, processes, information, and technology, and to the external
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all legislative and governance requirements relevant to professional practice in the technology field.
- Build and maintain sound relations with key internal and external stakeholders through ongoing communication and engagement.
- Manage finances in accordance with business priorities and within approved financial guidelines and

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/ information systems or related field is
- Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems or related field is
- TOGAF Certification or related Enterprise Architecture Certification is a must
- Seasoned professional required with eight (8) or more years of experience in any of the following disciplines: information, business, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management and operations in a multitier
- Three (3) or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business
Technical Competencies
- Experience building EA technology plans and
- Experience designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems
- Demonstrate experience with business process and performance modelling, benchmarking and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management
- Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, services management, infrastructure and operations, enterprise architecture, governance and related frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, GWEA, Zachman, etc.).
- Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies and processing
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and
