Full-time A manufacturing company which produces plastic packaging products is looking for Line Packers for a 1 month contract based in Boksburg. A packer’s responsibilities will include collecting and preparing items for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Duties also involve accurately filling out and recording paperwork, performing quality control checks, and operating warehouse equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts
Key responsibilities
- Packing and preparing: Securely packaging products for shipment, sometimes involving picking items from shelves based on orders.
- Labeling and shipping: Applying correct labels to packages and preparing them for dispatch according to company standards.
- Inventory and quality control: Inspecting items for damage, counting stock, and ensuring the correct products are picked for each order.
- Documentation: Accurately completing and logging shipping information, such as order forms, delivery notes, and invoices.
- Workstation maintenance: Keeping the packing area clean, organized, and safe, and following proper safety protocols.
- Equipment operation: Safely operating various warehouse machinery, such as pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, or conveyors.
- Stock management: Moving and storing inventory, restocking shelves, and rotating stock as needed.
- Loading and unloading: Assisting with loading packages onto delivery trucks and unloading incoming shipments.
- Reporting: Monitoring product quality, reporting any problems, and informing supervisors about equipment needing repair or maintenance.
Minimum requirements
- Must have Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- Must have at least 1 year experience as a General Worker or operator in a production environment
- Basic shop skills, such as using hand tools.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
