PLANT PROJECT ENGINEER

A position has arisen in our packaging manufacturing company based in Boksburg for a dynamic Plant Project Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following: (amongst other duties)

• Drive time studies and accurate data collection
• Drive optimisation of planned changes (Mould changes/colour changes/Weight changes) through accurate data collection and implementation of improvement actions
• Develop and lead multiple projects in the plant (equipment commissioning, production processes, water & energy savings, plant layout, etc)
• Identify and recommend improvement areas to improve productivity (Improve machine efficiencies/ Improve cycle times / Reduce cost)
• Champion energy efficiency for the division – reduction of electricity usage by daily tracking and recommendation of improvement areas
• Champion all trial run requests in the division and reporting
• Drive data-based decision making and recommendations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BEng or BTech Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering degree
• 3 – 5 Years engineering experience is required in a food manufacturing environment
• An ability to communicate at all levels
• Be familiar with food safety standards
• An ability to negotiate effectively
• A strong ability to think logically and rationally
• Assertive and forthright
• A strong financial and commercial aptitude
